The Beehive podcast was created to provide supportive knowledge to women who want to start a business but are either unsure about how to make the first step or are afraid of failure. The overall mission is to encourage and inspire other women to take the entrepreneurial leap. We’ll use the journeys of others as examples of how to move beyond fear and into success. Through the podcast, I am hoping to show other women many different possibilities exist when it comes to creating and owning a business.
Every week, I will be interviewing an inspiring and motivating entrepreneur to get the story behind her success. There is a very loose storytelling format for each show. Some questions will be the same from week to week. So, in general, you’ll know what to expect. However, the conversation will be tailored to fit the product/service of each guest. During each interview, we will discuss her journey as a designer and innovator. This includes her philosophy as an entrepreneur, her keys to success, and, of course, her personal advice to women who are trying to find the courage to make that entrepreneurial leap.
Some of the common questions and prompts include:
- Tell us the story behind your product or service. Tell us about your first prototype. How did you come up with this concept?
- Tell us about your worst moment as an entrepreneur?
- What fears did you have about starting a business and how did you conquer those fears?
Leading up to the launch of this podcast, I’ve taken some time to consider the question, what does it take to be a successful entrepreneur? There are many schools of thought. However, I have come to the conclusion that success is a mindset because it starts in the mind of the innovator and, as a vision, can only be physically articulated when there’s mental clarity, tenacity and drive. In other words, one must be clear about the vision, must have perseverance and focused effort to bring the vision to life. This has become even more evident based on my first sampling of interviews.
What does it really take to be a Queen Bee? Each episode of the Beehive is created to answer this question. I would love to know your thoughts because really the Beehive is created just for you, the female entrepreneur, aspiring entrepreneur or small business owner – the Queen Bee. If you want to understand the potential to start a business, if you want to be inspired and motivated with practical advice, come and join us.
