Hi! I’m Alisa Ivory Smith. I’ve had a very successful career in product development – creating and launching new products. However, things haven’t always gone as planned…
Like my parents, I was born and raised in the Southern U.S. and came from very humble beginnings. We were taught the value of education and hard work at an early age. My career started at 15 working as a fast food cashier and sometimes packing blueberries at the local factory. Life hasn’t always been easy but I’ve learned that persistence and focus pay off.
When I graduated from high school. I was encouraged to be a teacher — similar to other girls in my class. I enjoyed having a stint as a peer counselor in high school but, as a shy teenager, teaching didn’t seem to be a good option at the time. I went to college confused and unsure of what to do. Eventually, I discovered a love of science and engineering!
Fast forward to today…. After 18+ successful and wonderful years in consumer goods product development, I’ve led numerous product launches in the mass personal care category.
I started feeling that it was time to give back. Plus, I was looking for a new challenge.
In 2015… launched The Beehive Podcast – as a side hustle – to bring clarity to the product launch process for aspiring female entrepreneurs.
…simply because I’m on a mission to empower women and I believe that increasing knowledge and accessibility to industry tools and resources is key.
Live Strong and Prosper.
